Love shouldn't be ignorant or aimless - it should be informed and intentional. That's why the prayer is for love to 'abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight'. With divine knowledge and insight, we're better able to love people, to discern the needs around us, to understand who needs love and how we can love people best.
