Cast All Your Anxiety On Him

Cast All Your Anxiety On Him.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

Have you ever heard that God cares for you? If not, I’m telling you now. God cares for you. To every single person reading this: God cares for you. Not just the people next to you, you. He cares for you.

If you’ve never heard that, you need to hear it now. And for those of us who have heard it before, probably many times, let’s hear it again with fresh ears. It’s so easy to forget. When things go wrong our rational minds try to convince us it means God no longer cares, or has forgotten. That’s a lie. God cares for you in the bad times just as much as in the good times. He never stops caring.

So cast all your anxiety on Him. Not just some, all. Most of us have a lot more anxiety than we did even this time last week, and certainly more than last month. Cast them all on Jesus. Don’t try and carry or internalise all these new worries – cast them on the only person who can bear that weight. Jesus.

If you need more encouragement today, look at the surrounding verses. If we humble ourselves before God, trusting Him and not trying to fix this in our own strength, we’re told that God’s ‘mighty hand’ will lift us up in due time (v. 6). There may be a time of suffering, but afterwards God ‘will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast’ (v. 10).

God is not just waiting at the end of your suffering. He walks with you through it. He has a caring heart, a ready ear and a broad back. So, turn to Him, talk to Him, and trust in Him.
